Recycling Skateboards

Why do we use recycled skateboards?

Creating sunglasses out of recycled skateboards is a sustainable way to repurpose materials rather than using new plastics that would all otherwise end up in landfills. But also, take a good look at a well made skateboard. 7 layers of beautiful pressed maple wood of different colors and crazy graphics that make anything look better!

Our process begins by collecting used skateboards from local skate parks, shops, or individuals who donate them. Have one? Get in touch! 🙂

The grip tap is then removed and the deck is cleaned of any glue, dirt or debris. the wood from each deck can now produce roughy 6 pairs of frames and 12 temples (the arms).

This not only reduces the amount of waste in landfills, but it also adds this 100% unique, but still natural look to our one of a kind sunglasses.

Traditional sunglasses are often made from plastic or other synthetic materials that are not biodegradable and can take hundreds of years to decompose in landfills.

Using recycled materials can also reduce the energy and resources required to produce new products. This makes the production of our sunglasses out of recycled skateboards an environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative.
