Using Decommissioned Snowboards to create Sunglasses

Why did we choose to use Snowboards?

Similar to using skateboards, creating eco-friendly products using snowboards and skis is a great way to repurpose decommissioned winter sports equipment and reduce overall waste in our landfills. But just as importantly we do this because snowboards are truly beautiful and extremely strong works of art. So we relish the opportunity to find ways to keep them alive!

Pictured here: part of our process to epoxy top sheets and bases from snowboards onto our delam skateboards. Our main goal with snowboards is to produce a line of crazy strong and truly gorgeous sunglasses. Combining the inherent curves from these skateboards and the strength from a snowboard makes these sunglasses a truly durable one of a kind work of art!

Not only do our new sunglasses repurpose old equipment, but they also help to reduce the amount of (very hard to deal with) waste in landfills. We absolutely love to ski and snowboard hear in Canada so finding ways to help deal with the left overs is our pleasure!

We’re very lucky to work with some amazing snowboard and ski manufacturers from Canada and the USA that have the same environmental concerns as we do. That will do whatever they can to help reduce their footprint even just a little bit.

These sunglasses are a great way to give new life to decommissioned equipment that is typically very hard to recycled, while being mindful of the environment. But They also make truly unique and one-of-a-kind gifts for the eco-conscious and outdoor sports loving individuals in your life.
